5 fun outings on Amager with kids

Amager is full of great destinations for families with children. Here are five of our favourites – and they are all a short distance from Uganda Is on Ugandavej in Kastrup, so there is time for an ice cream on the way home.

1. The Blue Planet

Denmark's national aquarium is located by the water in Kastrup. Here, children can see sharks, rays, and fish from all over the world – perfect for a rainy day.

2. Amager Strandpark

A long sandy beach, a shallow lagoon, and plenty of space to build sandcastles. In the summer, it is one of the best places to go swimming in Copenhagen.

3. Kastrup Sea Bath

The circular sea bath – popularly known as "The Snail" – is a beautiful place to take a walk on the pier and look out over the Øresund Strait.

4. Kastrup Fort

The old fort features green ramparts and lovely paths where children can run around and explore.

5. Kongelunden

A large forest in the south of Amager with trails, clearings, and space for a picnic. Great for a long walk or a bike ride.
